Amiami Stops Selling Myth Cloths?

To any of you Myth Cloth collectors that purchased your beloved Saint Seiya figures from Amiami this is nothing but a hard kick straight to the balls,
Apparently, the online store will NO LONGER SELL this line for customers outside Japan. The fact that hinted this was that Cancer Deathmask EX became available for preorder yesterday in every other online store except this one. Some people from the SaintSeiyaFriends forum contacted the store asking what happened and well, here's the answer, brace yourselves:

Hi, Thank you for mailing us. Unfortunately we are unable to offer that product internationally and we probably won't be offering more Saint cloth myth ex internationally. We are very sorry for the inconvenience and thank you for your kind understanding.
Thank you for shopping at AmiAmi.
Best Regards, AmiAmi
TROLLFACE
Personally, I think this is bullshit, as for the Japanese site of the store Cancer EX was available and you could order UP TO THREE of them. I don't know what is the real reason behind this decision but it certainly will affect many collectors out there, although then again, the preorders for the EX figures even since Aries EX lasted barely a few minutes, so you had to be really lucky to be able to snatch one.
Thank God here in Mexico we have DAM, the local distributor for Bandai stuff that offers it at an equivalent price. The only drawback is that you have to wait a month after the release in Japan in order to get your stuff but at least you save yourself the costs of the shipping. Does this affect you in any way?

I wondered what happened to the EX Pisces preorder.....well this explains it. This is definitely a shitty move on amiami's part. I always tried to preorder from them to get a decent discount & relatively fast shipping. Oh well more business for hlj or hobbysearch. In the US we also have bluefin but as you said with DAM you usually get your stuff about a month later. Any word on if this policy applies to the regular myth cloth line as well? I hope not.....

db317: judging by Amiami's answer, this dick move applies to every Myth Cloth merchandise. Fuck'em

Yes I was going to say you are a bit late on that news. Pisces pre-order was canned a while ago, and the product has been promptly taken off the catalog. The same has been happening to a lot of other figures. I guess if domestic market is thriving, they would want to save the fuss of shipping things overseas.

One thing I noticed with Amiami is that they have introduced pre-owned items (lol @ pre-owned in games speak). Luka Megurine eluded me for the 4th time a few days ago, and I felt a bit suss when it got taken off my wish list (something that annoys me when it happens... I have no ideas which ones have vanished out of my 2 billion figures on my wish list). And when I search her again, I ended up getting a pre-owned version more pricey than the original figure. No ideas whats in their heads, but this has got to be some kind of joke... and if you think this is bad, wait till you hear this: I searched Rin Tohsaka of unlimited blade works cuz it too got removed from my wish list (arguably the best figure released in 2010/11 I forgot the year), and ended up getting a pre-owned figure which states "some evident damage to the box and the figure". And for a hefty price of 12,950Y you would just lol and forget about it... you know what? I looked again the next morning, it was sold.

IMHO, there is no need to get mad at amiami. Plenty other websites are offering the same service, albeit a bit expensive and without the points system. Lucky for you you have a local distributor which sells at normal prices. At where I live, the figures are priced 2-3 times the Japanese retail price. Can you imagine paying ~400USD for a saber lily distant avalon? (just fyi: try to search for it in amiami for another jaw dropping moment)

CrystaleraCroM: what I fear is that other online stores may follow Amiami's example, rendering many out there unable to purchase the occasional toy/plamo/whatever unless you shell out much more money for it than before.

As for the preowned list Amiami is offering, seems kinda like Mandarake, but in most cases the whole thing is a joke, as they ask for 3 times the original price of item in question.

Hugo: I'm still waiting for Mermaid Thetis. She is scheduled to arrive and be distributed in Mexico by the end of January.
As for Cancer EX, I asked my local distributor for one copy, which he says most probably we will get here by the end of May.
